Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start a workout?

Tap the Train tab, then tap "START WORKOUT". Your planned exercises will load automatically based on your training plan. You can also add exercises manually with the "ADD EXERCISE" button.

How does weight progression work?

Surpass tracks your performance across sessions and automatically suggests when to increase weight. When you consistently hit the top of your rep range with good RIR (Reps in Reserve), the app will suggest a load increase on your next session.

What is RIR?

RIR stands for "Reps in Reserve" — how many more reps you could have done before failure. For example, RIR 2 means you stopped 2 reps short of failure. Surpass uses RIR to manage fatigue and optimise your training volume.

How do I change my training plan?

Go to the Plan tab and tap "EDIT" to modify your training split, exercises, and schedule. You can choose from templates or build a custom plan.

Where is my data stored?

Your workout data is stored locally on your device. If Analytics is enabled in Settings, Surpass sends limited anonymous product-usage events to Mixpanel; it does not send workout contents, notes, files, health data, or location. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I restore a subscription?

Go to Settings > Manage Subscription > Restore Purchases. Your subscription is linked to your Apple ID and will restore automatically on any device signed in with the same account.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Go to Settings > Export Data to download your complete workout history.

The app isn't tracking my progress correctly

Make sure you're completing sets by tapping the checkmark after each set. Only completed sets count toward your progression tracking. If the issue persists, please contact us with details about which exercise is affected.
